Sinisa Vukelic, the editor-in-chief of the Capital portal, commented on the shifting perception of Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska (RS) and leader of SNSD. Once envied by many politicians and citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina for his power and influence, Dodik's position now appears increasingly precarious.

Vukelic noted the severe financial strain on the RS budget, which, despite the appearance of functioning smoothly with regular salary and pension payments, is delayed in meeting other obligations. He highlighted the impact on public enterprises and institutions that have contracts with blacklisted IT companies, leading to disruptions and tender renewals that ultimately affect citizens.

“There's a growing sense of unease; people are uncertain about what the next few months will bring,” Vukelic remarked, adding that Dodik faces additional challenges.

He also critiqued the contradictory statements from Dodik and RS Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic. While they claim that RS is financially stable, they simultaneously acknowledge difficulties in securing loans due to international isolation, which contradicts their earlier assurances.

“Now they are beginning to blame the U.S. Embassy in BiH for any potential delays in salaries and pensions, shifting the blame for issues that are actually their own,” Vukelic concluded.
