Bosnian swimmer Lana Pudar, who swam the Olympic A norm in the 100-meter Butterfly stroke achieving the best result in the history of Bosnian swimming, told a news conference on Tuesday that she would do her best to represent Bosnia at the Tokyo Olympics.
“This is really great result and I am proud of it, satisfied and happy. Of course, it takes a lot of work, effort and sacrifice, talent and a lot of people from whom I have immense support. These are first of all my parents, and then coaches, teachers, colleagues and friends,” said the 15-year-old swimmer at the Mostar City Hall, where she was received by the Mayor of this south-Bosnian city, Mario Kordic.
She added that she will do her best to train even harder in the future and achieve even better results and that she will present Bosnia the best she can at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The head of the Water Sports Club “Orka” from Mostar, Damir Djedovic, said that this was a world-class result.
He pointed out that the club is aware that Lana has done a huge thing, but that in no case do they intend to stop at this or will they remain satisfied with this result because they are convinced that Lana can do much more.
The press conference at the City Hall was organized by the Sports Federation of the City of Mostar, which presented Lana and her team with a 5,000 Bosnian marks reward (some €2,500) so they could prepare for the Tokyo Olympics.
