Romanian Prime Minister supports Bosnia’s EU path

Bosnia’s Council of Ministers Chairman Denis Zvizdic met in Sofia with the Prime Minister of Romania who said her country is ready to provide technical and political support to speed up Bosnia’s EU accession process.

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila said Romania wants to strengthen the cooperation with Bosnia, especially in linking the trade and entrepreneurial chambers of these two countries. She added she was aware of additional questions which Bosnia received from the from the European Commission within the process of receiving the EU membership candidate status. She expects the questions will be answered quickly and added that Romania is ready to provide political and technical assistance to Bosnia in order to speed up the EU integration process.

At the sidelines of the ‘16+1’ summit between China and 16 Central and Eastern European countries, Zvizdic told the Prime Minister Dancila that bilateral relations between the two countries are good, without any open issues and expressed hope that cooperation will continue to mutual satisfaction.

He informed the Prime Minister of Bosnia’s internal political situation and the reform processes in the country as well as activities concerning the fulfilment of foreign policy priorities and goals which are the Euro-Atlantic integration of the country and regional cooperation. He added that Bosnia is interested in a firm political and economic cooperation with Romania.

Zvizdic noted that Bosnia is an active participant of all regional activities and processes and that she supports all activities leading to linking, stability, and economic development of the region. He expressed hope that Romania, as a country in line to take over the Presidency over the Council of the European Union, would preserve the Western Balkans in the focus of their presidency.

The meeting was also attended by Bosnia’s Foreign Trade Minister Mirko Sarovic Bosnia’s Transport and Communication Minister Ismir Jusko and Bosnia’s Ambassador to Bulgaria Radomir Bogdanovic.
