Women in Bosnian town of Lopare begin sewing protective masks

Opština Lopare

The Mayor of Lopare, in the north-eastern part of Bosnia Rado Savic, said this municipality started sewing protective masks, thanks to three local seamstresses.

“They will make double-layered cotton masks that can be boil-washed, so a person can have only two masks with them. In the evening, they can wash and iron them so that they can be used again in the morning. They are very practical compared to the usual masks because they also have a makeshift filter,” Savic said.

The Mayor emphasized that the residents of Lopare Municipality fully comply with all the measures and recommendations issued aimed at preventing the spread of the new coronavirus and that 120 residents are self-isolated and under medical supervision, while the supervision for some suspected patients has expired.

He noted that all trade and catering facilities abide by the measures and that they are regularly visited by the police.
