The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina partially confirmed the indictment against Dzevad Mlaco and Bosnia’s former security minister Selmo Cikotic for war crimes against prisoners of war.
The BiH Court had partially confirmed the indictment on January 29 of last year.
At the same time, the Court rejected the indictment against the suspect Tahir Granic.
The accused Dzevad Mlaco and Selmo Cikotic are accused of acting contrary to the rules of international humanitarian law, the Geneva Convention of August 12, 1949, on the protection of victims of international armed conflicts and the treatment of prisoners of war, and contrary to the Order of the Presidency of Republic of BiH on the application of the rules of the international law of war in the Armed Forces of the RBiH and Additional Protocol II from 1977, during the armed conflict between the Croat Defence Council (HVO) and the Army of the RBiH, from July 18, 1993. until mid-April 1994.
It is further stated that Cikotic failed to take all possible measures within the limits of his authority to prevent the commission of crimes of murder and inhumane treatment.
