Bosnian lawmaker Zukan Helez, who was invited to discuss the situation in Bosnia with MEPs, could not do so because he could not present a QR code since he was vaccinated against COVID-19 in Bugojno, where electronic identification of vaccination certificates have not been introduced.
“We had some meetings with members of the European Parliament. I could not go even though I was vaccinated, I received two doses of Pfizer vaccine here in Bugojno,” he told N1.

“The Central Bosnia Canton does not have the code needed in the EU, so they warned me that I could enter the country, but I could not go to a hotel, restaurant, the European Commission headquarters, or anywhere,” he said.
Helez has a diplomatic passport and was supposed to travel to Brussels alongside his colleagues from Bosnia’s Social Democratic Party (SD), Sasa Magazinovic and Vojin Mijatovic.
