BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik met with European Enlargement Commissioner, Oliver Varhelyi and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Thursday during his stay in the Hungarian capital.

Dodik said that Varhelyi informed him about the European Commission's recommendation for BiH candidate status and that he thanked him for his personal involvement.

“I also expressed my doubt that this kind of BiH with international oversight and OHR can make any progress,” Dodik on his Twitter account.

He also met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Budapest with whom he discussed energy production, as announced earlier.

on Wednesday, Dodik had a meeting with the president of the Serbian Self-Government in Hungary, Vera Pejic Sutor, with whom he spoke about the need for cooperation in the energy field. He stated that “Republika Srpska is the only one in the Balkans that produces excess energy, it’s building new power plants, and that he will discuss this with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban.”

The status of Serbs in Hungary was also discussed at the meeting yesterday. “I am well aware of the status of Serbs in Hungary, and I have visited the Serb community before,” said Dodik.

Dodik pointed out that cooperation between the Hungarian theater and the RS National Theater is also possible, and announced that a Youth Center will be built in Jahorina, where Serb children from Hungary will be able to come.
