Bosnia’s Becirovic and the Netherlands’ Jetten discuss European integration and security

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Presidency Chair Denis Becirovic met with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Rob Jetten, to discuss the bilateral relations between their nations. Their conversation covered Bosnia’s path toward European and Euro-Atlantic integration, alongside the prevailing political and security challenges facing Europe and the Western Balkans.

At the outset, Becirovic offered his warm congratulations to Prime Minister Jetten on his appointment, wishing him a successful term and every success in his new responsibilities. Becirovic expressed his gratitude for the Netherlands’ steadfast support for Bosnia, noting that the two countries share robust political and economic ties, underpinned by productive cooperation across a wide range of interests. He laid particular emphasis on the significant contribution made by the Bosnian community in the Netherlands, which serves as a vital bridge in fostering the close, friendly relations enjoyed by both nations.
Reiterating the country’s strategic priorities, the Chairman confirmed that membership in the European Union and the NATO Alliance remain the fundamental foreign policy objectives of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He underscored how highly valued the Netherlands' continued support for this European and Euro-Atlantic journey remains.
In response, Prime Minister Jetten reaffirmed the commitment of the Netherlands to Bosnia’s European perspective. He stressed the importance of maintaining the momentum of essential reforms, bolstering the rule of law, and ensuring the preservation of regional stability. Furthermore, the Prime Minister expressed his clear intention to further deepen the already excellent bilateral relationship between the two countries.
