Russian Embassy: PIC SB's Communique biased and one-sided

The Russian Federation did not join the Communique of the international community's body in Bosnia because they find it “biased and one-sided, not reflecting the true state of things in Bosnia, not dealing with the current issues and basically not contributing to the strengthening of inter-ethnic reconciliation and constructive dialogue,” the Embassy said on Tuesday.

“We are convinced that the priority task is to end the overly delayed process of forming of the Council of Ministers (Bosnia's de facto government) based on the results of the general election without any artificial conditions. This would enable the continuation of social and economic reforms in Bosnia in order to improve the quality of life of all its peoples, facilitate the functioning of other authorities,” said the Russian Embassy after the two-day session of the international community's body overseeing the peace implementation in Bosnia known as the Peace Implementation Council (PIC).

The PIC consists of political directors, ambassadors of all the major Western powers and Russia, jointly called the Steering Board (SB), whose mission is to oversee and advise the High Representative who oversees the civilian implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement which ended the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia.
