Bosnia and Herzegovina has no friends in the world today, our leaders do not travel a lot abroad and a very few statesmen are coming to Bosnia, said former Bosnian Prime Minister Hasan Muratovic.

Former Bosnian diplomat said that the day of Bosnia's accession to the United Nations, which happened on May 22, 1992, was an important “psychological moment” for all citizen, and a guarantee the country would continue existing.

Speaking for N1, Muratovic said that the international relations are of exceptional importance for economic and political reasons. “We need lobbying for our road to the European Union (EU) and the NATO,” he said.

According to him, Bosnia is lagging behind in the EU integration process due to “irrational relations” in the country.

He also warned that Serbia and Croatia “historically see Bosnia as their unsolved issue.”

“There is a set of politicians in both countries, which is continuously following that path. I don't believe this is going to end in near future. Those problems can be solved only with our membership in the European Union. Our accession to the European Union is our only state security,” concluded Muratovic.
