Bosnia’s Council of Ministers unanimously passed four decisions that facilitate the entry and stay of Ukrainian citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the basis of humanitarian reasons caused by the security situation in their country.

These are decisions on granting entry to Bosnia and Herzegovina under facilitated conditions, as well as granting temporary residence on humanitarian grounds to citizens of Ukraine for up to six months, with the option to have the temporary stay extended.

Facilitated entry into BiH is provided to Ukrainians upon presentation of valid or expired personal documents such as passports for travel abroad or ID cards, while children under 18 must only present a birth certificate.

The procedure for granting temporary residence to Ukrainian citizens is carried out by the Service for Foreigners at the personal request of the applicant, with the submission of a copy of personal documents and presentation of relevant evidence specified in the Decision on granting temporary residence on humanitarian grounds to Ukrainian citizens.

Ukrainian citizens who leave their country due to the security situation are also released from the obligation to present a negative Covid-19 test, proof of recovery or vaccination upon entering BiH.
