The newly elected Serb Presidency member Milorad Dodik said he will advocate for Bosnia's European path and respect for its military neutrality, meaning its demilitarization. He added he will advocate against Bosnia’s military integration and that Serb parliament members will not work against the interests of Bosniaks and Croats in the country.

During the meeting with the Head of Mission of the OSCE to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bruce Berton, Dodik stressed he would work in line with the constitution and “the first thing he does on his new function will be the return of Bosnia’s internal sovereignty, meaning the advocating for the abolition of the Office of the High Representative and expulsion of foreigners from the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

Milodar Dodik who currently serves ad the President of one of two Bosnia's semi autonomous entities, the Serb-dominated Republika Srpska entity said during his election campaign that he will advocate for the closure of the Office of the High Representative who oversees the civilian implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, that ended the war in Bosnia (1992-1995).

Dodik thanked Berton for congratulating him on the appointment to the new post, stressing that he would advocate for the respect of the Constitution and the Dayton Peace Agreement as it was originally written, and strive to preserve peace and the visible economic progress of the country.
